		Barbers Corners Quaker Cemetery ^Votes:0 Barber Corners Quaker Cemetery (Town of Ledyard) #86 Mr. Otis records say: " Located on Levanna Rd. a short distance E. of Barbers Corners. this known locally as the " Quaker Cemetery. "The land is said to have been donated by a man by the name of Charles Gifford. There is a substantial iron fence with a gate on the side next to the road. It is in good condition and has been recently painted. A very old boardfence is on the east side. Wire fences are on the south and west sides. The area is around 1/2 acre. The cemetery is shaded by several large maples , Scotch Pine , White Cedar and Norway Spruce trees. The size of these trees indicate they are over 100 yrs. old. In its early years Hampton once included several of the neighboring towns. Those daughter towns, along with their dates of separation, are: Kingston (1690), Hampton Falls (1712-18), Kensington (1737), parts of Rye (1730-38), East Kingston (1738), North Hampton (1742), parts of Sandown (1756), Danville (1760), and parts of Seabrook (1768). When using these records keep in mind that people who died and were buried "in Hampton" may now be buried in one of these other towns. 		U.S. Civil War Center -- Chalmette National Cemetery ^Votes:0 Chalmette National Cemetery Chalmette National Cemetery is a 17.5 acre strip of land that sits adjacent to the site of the Battle of New Orleans along the Mississippi River in Chalmette, Louisiana. The cemetery, which is closed to future burials, has more than 15,300 interments from every major U.S. conflict between the American Revolution and Vietnam. While most of the individuals interred are veterans, civilians such as spouses, children, and employees of the War Department are also included.
